"Peace...Be Still." Public art sculpture design.

"Peace... Be Still." A sculpture design created for a proposed flower garden in a church's community garden area. One side is colored to show the peace sign and one side to show a cross. "Peace... Be Still." Public art sculpture design and concept, peace symbol side. I’ve used gold and silver to highlight the symbols in this model. If rendered in bronze, it could be a lighter/polished bronze, the raw bronze, and a darker bronze. I think white, black, and metallic gold would be an arresting color scheme for a public rendition but not great for the flower garden. All marble is appealing of course, using three different degrees of roughness, especially on a large scale. However, a really nice combination in the medium size range for the garden might be to assemble it out of oak beans, post-in-hole, and use a light oil preservative varnish, a medium one, and a dark burnt varnish or stain with preservative. A version covered in copper shear would be interesting, one symbol could be covered in clear resin, one left to make the green patina over the years, and the dark surfaces given a flat, dark resin coating or even a tar roof paint. I plan on licensing the design for public art installation.
